Community Call - From the Golden Rule to the Platinum Rule: The Importance of Neurodiversity in the Workplace
Time & Location
24 Sept 2024, 18:00 – 19:00 CEST
Zoom
About the event
Neurodiversity is about recognizing and respecting the natural variations in human brain functioning. It challenges the traditional view that certain neurological conditions, such as autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and others, are mere deficits or disorders. Instead, neurodiversity emphasizes that these differences are part of the normal spectrum of human diversity and should be valued as unique ways of experiencing and interacting with the world.
The beauty of neurodiversity lies within its core principle: the celebration of how we are all wired differently.
Have you ever stopped to consider the value of these differences, not just in the broader context of human experience, but specifically within the workplace?
When we embrace neurodiversity, we
- invite inclusivity and equality into the workplace.
- see the strengths and potential of every individual, regardless of their neurological makeup
- encourage and celebrate different perspectives, problem-solving skills, and unique contributions, which can spark innovation and creativity
- also cultivate team dynamics that thrive on empathy and collaboration.
What will be explored
In this community call, The Hum collaborator and co-founder of Neurodiversity Foundation and Neurodiversity Education Academy, Lana Jelenjev will share with us a brief introduction on neurodiversity and why it is important to bring more awareness and understanding on how we are all wired differently. We will brainstorm and share best practices around neuroinclusion that supports neurodivergents to thrive in the workplace.
